I chanced upon your site about 2 hours ago and have thoroughly enjoyed reading through your research. I spent a year in London doing my masters degree and, since moving back north, I've really come to miss the underground. I was always fascinated by the layout of certain stations and your site has gone some way to explaining the "method behind the madness". It's amazing to see how a system that is so regularly taken for granted has changed and developed over the years! I hope you will continue to keep us updated on the many stories behind the stations. |

Thannk you for this most interesting site. Ever since being a young child, the underground in London held a huge fascination for me, so much that my father had to bring me from Leeds Yorkshue to the capital merely to "ride the undergrond" Now at 60+ i STILL find all this fascinating. I visit this site regularly and spend too long really when I am here, but attempt to explore ever single detail. Thank you again.... John Hardcastle..Leeds |

This website is facinating! Thank you so much for making it. As further interest goes, how about a photographic collection of the old signs and designs, along with their history. Perhaps the wonderful tiles, wall and floor, could be included somewhere. The modern addition of the Sherlock Holmes tiles at Baker Street could be a finishing touch? Anyway I digress, congratulations on a wonderful site and I hope more interesting items will be added in the future. |

I stumbled upon your site by accident and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I grew up in London and used the underground system from boyhood, there used to be a tickckt called an Underground Rover which gave unlimited travel for a whole day on the whole network, similar to a Red Rover on LT red buses. Also used it the underground for many years once I had started work. Anyway I am waffling, so thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into this as it is much appreciated. |
